i’ve been trying to meet myself
for the longest time,
but i keep missing myself,
and always forget to leave a message,
though that’s not entirely true,
i don’t like leaving messages because, well,
it seems too desperate,
and i don’t want to come on too strong to myself
there’s a domestic dispute playing in the back of my head,
and i’ve called the cops on the voices,
though there’s nothing the cops can do,
because they have not hit one another,
plus,
i’m pretty sure they’re not even real,
despite what they say
i started listening to k-pop
while reading langston hughes’ poetry
in hopes that it would somehow change the meaning
behind his words
i’ve found it a bit too distracing,
but my next experiment will be to listen to justin beiber
while reading dylan thomas
