pick a side

the war started,
but i don’t seem to know which side i’m on,
because no one picked me,
just like in middle school
when none of my peers wanted me to be on their kickball team,
so i took up skateboarding instead…
i sucked at that too

a poem about my dislike for christopher nolan

if you watch any christopher nolan movie really closely,
take inception for example,
then you’ll realize
that it’s the dumbest thing in the world,
which isn’t so much of an opinion
as it is a fact i read off of a wheaties box

the danger the puffs up its chest

a gentle push into the night
that never darkens, while perfumed silhouettes
dance along the edge of a cliff made to look more dangerous than it is,
but really, someone will catch them if they fall,
or not, i didn’t stick around to see the ending
