DOMESTIC DISPUTE VOICES IN MY HEAD

there’s a domestic dispute playing in the back of my head,
and i’ve called the cops on the voices,
though there’s nothing the cops can do,
because they have not hit one another,
plus,
i’m pretty sure they’re not even real,
despite what they say

WHAT K-POP AND LANGSTON HUGHES HAVE IN COMMON//NOT MUCH

i started listening to k-pop 
while reading langston hughes’ poetry
in hopes that it would somehow change the meaning
behind his words

i’ve found it a bit too distracing,
but my next experiment will be to listen to justin beiber
while reading dylan thomas

STRANGER HITCH HIKER

i picked up a stranger,
gave ‘em a ride to wherever,
because i read too much poetry and fiction,
and figured (eight, ate, and weight) that there’s always the possibility,
no matter where you are,
that any stranger you come across
could be almighty gawd, o’ gawd,
what have i done,
i picked up that random stranger in my nissan sentra
and took ‘em to where he wanted to go,
but he said he don’t know,
just wherever…
but just not there…
