the definitions of words in a dictionary rarely give a satisfactory reason

behind why a particular sound and string of abstraction means one thing over another,

take the word entelechy for example,

which means the realization of potential,

I mean, who in their right mind came up with a word like that,

only for it to never be used,

except in obscure mentions like this,

that have little to nothing to do with what and why the word exists,

and yet….

I don’t mean to be creepy, it’s just that everything I do comes out that way,

but I’m working on it, for the most part, kinda, I mean, not really,

it just seems like too much effort, and then before you know it,

it’s time to take some melatonin to go to sleep

and I haven’t made a dent in my efforts to become less creepy,

but maybe my life is like that Radiohead song and I’m just waiting for someone to call me special

moments disappearing off the face of this earth

with unknown destinations fixed in and coded

to a previous agreed upon ending that suddenly, rudely, goes awry,

but maybe there’s next time,

just make sure to not to use the emergency brakes
